Act first, think later

plan....do

Seems like a simple thing to do....think first and then act. I spent some time trying to get someone to share plans with me prior to asking me to act. Bugs tend to be fairly tricky things, and its good not to have them...typically they show up when one has either:

a. worked way the hell too long
b. adds a feature to something that doesn't support it

So of course with this mind you'd think that the first reply to "What kind of features will this have?" would be:

"Let me send you the info!"

Erm...no. Instead it was "You know, if you're not busy enough, I can assign you more..".

Gee, thanks...then there is only one thing to do...Persevere until people finally catch on that you're trying to help them.

To be honest I think I'm a little hard on the place I work at sometimes. Where else could I get paid to playtest and program video games? This morning I started by testing the AI for a new project. I followed that up by doing some bug fixes and had an hour in the sun munching some goodies from home. Its a rough life:)

On the home front, my favourite tree is very happy:) Two days after getting rid of a year of deadwood, I can see the berries budlets starting to form. We've had it for around 20 years now. My dog used to sit in the shade under the tree. Sometimes in the Summer I like to grab berries from the tree for breakfast:) Katy has been saying that the berries should all be hers from now on as I've had years of berries....naaaaah. I don't think so:)

May 24 :)

Its Monday of the long weekend. I am so very relaxed:) For the past few weeks I've been enjoying my first car. On Saturday my fiance took the car to work , and I experienced something that will take me a while to get used to.....not being a chauffer!

Sunday I took a trip out to see the badlands:) Badlands in Ontario? Yes, there are badlands in Ontario, though they're not as expansive as the ones in Alberta. Its a shock....green, more green, and more green....then a patch of red in the middle of nowhere. Years ago when I was at York U, someone had a few pics, but they didn't give me very good directions to get there....

Off and on this weekend I checked on what the people at my last job were doing...and survey says...they worked....the whole weekend. Even at 1:30am. I don't know how people do that all the time. I worked at that place for three months...and the stress of being available 24x7 made me sick. Long never ending hours and low pay don't make me keen to ever go back there.

Dinner is calling....lets see whats on the menu:)
